Our story

Salteo brings our family’s baking back.

  1. The first generation

Salvatore came to America from Sicily and Teofil from Poland, and both worked in baking.

  2. The next generation

They started businesses of their own, among them a bakery on Ashby Avenue in Berkeley.

  3. Salteo

Sal for Salvatore, Teo for Teofil. Salteo brings our family’s baking back, in San Francisco.

  • Gordon-Pagel Baking Co.
  • Salvatore and Calogera
  • The bakery on Ashby Avenue
